About The Root
The Root is a North Carolina local music blog centered around weekly updates of music releases and news throughout the various genres within the state. We were founded in January of 2017 originally as a school project to understand website structure and maintenance. It has since evolved as a means to keep those interested in North Carolina's local music scenes up to date, as well as be a medium for fans of music worldwide to find new music they may never have found on their own.
About Me
My name is Michael Ream, I am a Public Relations and Advertising double major at Appalachian State University, with a minor in Marketing. I have been a member in our on-campus programming boards for three years, and have held leadership positions within this organization from my sophomore year through my senior year. With these positions I have assisted in planning, organizing, and executing both the concert and the hospitality for many shows. Some of the more well known being, Lil' Wayne, Tory Lanez, and The 1975. These positions have also allowed me to understand and learn how important it is to be a great leader and how to work with individuals across many different platforms.
